Cloudflare: Powering the Next Generation of Cloud Technologies

By the end of this guest lecture, students will be able to explain Cloudflare's role as a "Connectivity Cloud" and its core architecture including the global edge network and Anycast routing. They will analyze and differentiate key performance, security, and reliability features such as CDN acceleration, DDoS protection, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and DNS security. Students will explore emerging cloud-native technologies like Cloudflare Workers for serverless edge computing and assess related career opportunities in the cloud industry. Additionally, they will outline practical steps for setting up and managing a website on Cloudflare, including DNS management and SSL/TLS configuration, while understanding how Cloudflare integrates with other cloud platforms to build scalable applications.
